What a Life!

I am on my way to becoming a runner, ladies. I am. I got out and did it Sat., Sun., and Mon. Last night I ended up shredding instead. It was the first night on level two. Holy. Crap. That woman doesn't play around with her plank exercises!! I'm ridiculously sore today! When I first bought the 30DS I thought I'd do it every day, like you're supposed to. But, just like going to the gym, or any other exercising, I got bored. I do the best when I can switch things up. So, I'll be juggling biking, running, and the 30DS. On the days I bike or run, I do crunches on my stability ball. The goal is to run at least 4-5 days per week, in order to make it a habit. I love the new outlook I have on running. I do it for myself. For Z. For our future children. I do it for lifestyle. So far, this approached has kept me motivated, yet grounded enough to not feel bad about only going a mile or two instead of pounding out 3-4. I'm looking for long term results, so as long as I'm running, I'm creating a habit. It doesn't matter that I'm not going far at first, because eventually my endurance will build up and the miles will increase. Plus, the fact that I'm blogging about it will help keep me in check. Some of my best encouragement comes from some of you!

I've also become obsessed with oodles of little projects. Of course, when they're finished, they'll be featured on Project Pretty. Hints on what I'm working on: Lots of spray paint, trips to goodwill, Corkboard, fabric, and painter's tape. Oh, the joys!! Also, there will be a fun giveaway to kick off the new blog soon! :)

Speaking of projects, my Chair Makeover is being featured today on the DIY Show Off. Go check it out!

I LOVE running because it is 100% instant gratification. It gets easier every time you do it, so your confidence running goes up. (I have been to scared to do level two of the shred.... Jillian scares the crap out of me)

That's how I'm trying to look at running too, not just something to make me "skinny" (which I don't think I could ever be anyways, haha), but to make me healthy. :) Hopefullly it will make me keep up with it! :) Good luck!

I wish I had someone like you close to me because whenever I "commit" to running it always fizzles away after a few days. I need a running partner!

Aw Lucy! Same here! I would totally be your running partner- Z won't run with me!

C, thanks so much for popping over to my blog. I'm glad you did because I love BOTH of your blogs... and I am definitely going to become a follower. :)

Good luck becoming a runner. I fell off the running wagon about 6 months ago and am trying to reintroduce it to my life. I'm planning on doing a half-marathon at the end of September (fingers crossed) and am hoping it will provoke me into kicking my butt into gear! Please keep us updated on how it all goes for you. And we will all be right here to keep encouraging you!

Also, for your biking... are you riding outdoors or using a stationary? I've been debating getting into road biking (it looks like so much fun!) but am a bit nervous to dive into it by myself. Hope all the exercising goes well! :)

Alicia, I was glad I found you too! I'm from New England as well, and miss it oh so much!

Biking- we're riding outside. We're super blessed to have awesome bike trails close to our house, so quite often we use those. When we feel like a shorter ride, though, we just cruise around the numerous developments around us.

yay! so proud of you. i, would like to be your running buddy, but being that we were far apart AND I am prego, we might have to wait for that one.

ALSO, I would like to suggest you do a project where you either reupholster or make a slip cover for a couch....if you do, I will do it to! we need a new couch. :)

Thanks Cristina!

S- haha I'm not sure if I'm that adventurous.. although, I sure could use a good slipcover or reupholstering on our living room chair!!

Hey C - It's Vanessa. I cracked on the blogging thing. It's just looked like fun and I'm going to be lonely for the next month or so while Charley and I are separated waiting for the house to close.

Ugh... Running. I hate running, the impact kills me - I prefere biking hands down. Except of course for the bruises in the "seat" area. lol

Anyway, this is me!

oh Shred...it misses me. But I don't miss it! Okay, keep us updated on the running, because I know it is the best thing to keep you fit, but I just can't make myself enjoy it! Ryan says P.E. teachers should have never used running as a punishment growing up, because thats the reason so many of us have negative thoughts about it! haha, I don't know about all that, I just know its hard! Good for you though! Stick with it!
