:: Husband Down ::

I had plans to blog a bit more tonight & catch up on all of yours some more, but we had a little incident come up. Z hurt his back today at work. He came home early and once I got home, I took him to the ER.

Poor guy had to take a shot in the arm AND one in the... uh.. bum. They said it's probably just a sprain and put him on anti-infammatories & muscle relaxers. So.. he'll be out of work for at least a day or two.. or more. He's not doing too bad thanks to the drugs, but he's having a really hard time getting comfortable. No position seems to do it for him.. I'm afraid we won't get much sleep tonight.

Your prayers for his speedy recovery would be mucho appreciated. We'll be leaving for Maine in exactly 2 weeks, so we're really hoping he's better by then. A 21 hour drive would be NO fun with a bad back.

In other news, I've started training a new lady at work to take my place. And let me just leave it at this: You REALLY should know how to ATTACH a file to an email in Outlook, & know the difference between SAVE and SAVE AS in MS Word if you want to keep an office job. I'm seriously questioning why anyone would hire someone without these basic skills for an office management position. Drives me nuts. My guess is once I'm gone they'll realize their mistake. Oh well. 2. MORE. WEEKS.

My house is a disaster. It's covered in boxes. And if you've gotten to know me at all.. you can understand how this causes my OCD tendencies to go nutzo. Oh well. 2. MORE. WEEKS.

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!! I'll be back with more interesting updates later, & again, your prayers for Z would be much appreciated! :)

Ouch! Praying! K had a back injury a month or two after we got married and I thought I was going to have to take him to the ER as well. What a helpless feeling that was as a wife- I couldn't do anything to help (besides get heat/cold packs).

aww poor guy! that shot in the bum didn't happen to be Demerol, did it? i had that shot once in the rear and despite having a shot there, it was great at taking the pain away. and yes, no one should hire anyone for an office job who does not have those basic skills. patience my dear! patience! ;)

def praying for z! if it's a lower back thing one thing we do in our ER when ppl come in w/that is lay them on their side with the leg on the side they are laying straight then bend the top leg up to 90* w/a pillow under it so the hips aren't twisting then put a pillow or two behind them so they can kind of ease back and rest against the pillows. if you ahve a body pillow that might work great!

heating pads are great and take those meds every 4 hours if he needs it!

soooo excited about this weekend!!

Ouch. Praying for Z. I know how bad back injuries can be. In 2007 my hubby was off work for 6 weeks with a back injury. It was horrible for both of us! When he's not around I miss him but then when I had to have him home with me for 6 weeks, I was ready to usher him back to work.

Praying for you as you continue to make plans and get ready for the big move!

OUCH! I hope Z feels better in no time and that this injury doesn't cause problems on your drive back to Maine! That would be horrible. Yuck. Wishing you both all of the best.

Oh no!! I hope his back gets better!! Will he get workers' comp because he got hurt at work?? My neighbor is out of work for 6 months because he hurt his knee at work, but he gets workers comp, so that makes it a little better!! :)

Hope Z gets better in time to help you with the packing! Seriously, hope he gets better soon. Back pain is not fun.

Thank you all for your thoughts & prayers! Justine- yep, it's a workers' comp. claim so we'll be covered fine. We're just hoping it gets better fast since we have so much going on.

Thank you all again!

I'm so glad you blogged an update. Poor Z. Praying for a speedy recovery. I hate training replacements. My company kept me on last Aug.-Nov. to do it. FUN! haha

Have a wonderful productive week!
